Berlin, it's where I've been!

I'm back! I had such a lovely time in Berlin ♥. First of all, sharing 5 days with my amazing mom was a treat! Second of all, what a city! We had 3 full days to see as much as possible, but it wasn't nearly enough for this big city. Berlin is vibrant, a city that never sleeps. It's modern, but also has a lot of old buildings and monuments. The best of both worlds so to speak :). Every district has it's own unique look, people, monuments, graffiti... The hotel we stayed in was about half an hour  driving from Berlin's centre. Well actually 20 min. because my mom drives like a mad woman :p. The traffic was wild and crazy with a lot of honking and speeding. So we fitted right in ;).

On our first day, we went to see the Berliner Mauer, the largest piece left is painted by several artists and is called 'East Side Gallery'. It was very pretty, and yet special because of it's sad history. After that we visited the Jewish Museum, it was impressive and very instructive. But it was also sad and sometimes less enjoyable :(... That evening, our search for a cute veggie place began! Berlin has a steak house at almost every corner of the city, so I was a bit scared! But not to be mistaken, it counts a lot of veggie bars as well, there just a bit hidden ;). We decided to search the internet for it and found 'Seerose' which was soooo cute! I really recommend it if you are planning to visit Berlin! It was cheap and delicious!

On our second day, we visited Berlin's upper east side! The Pariser Platz with the ancient Brandenburger Tor, and close by was also the amazingly pretty Berliner Dom. After that we got on the road again to another chic neighbourhood; Kurfürstendamm, known as one of the most famous avenues in Berlin. I'll be honest with you, I didn't like it. I didn't like the huge fashion warehouses, it's just way too commercial and because of the rich people walking around, there were also a lot of wanderers fishing in trash cans and begging for money :(. Well, let's just say it wasn't my thing :). That evening we ate at La Mano Verde. A bit more expensive but again very Delicious!

On our third and last day we decided to 'shop till we drop'! And this time not in a chic neighbourhood with commercial warehouses, no no! We went to Prenzlauer berg and Kreuzberg, the districts with the most vintage, retro and secondhand stores in Berlin! Oh how I loved it! How I wanted to live in every store! How I wanted to spend allll my money! And so I did :)... I bought not one but five vintage dresses, a pair of vintage cowboy boots, a really old cute little deer and more cute little knick knacks. Yes, I truly recommend everyone to visit these districts! But most of all, the Oderberger Straße in Prenzlauer Berg! We had a little lunch at the most cutest place; 'Sorgenfrei', a diner and store in one! Delicious food and lovely vintage items, I recommend! {Will take pictures soon of all my pretty findings!} That evening we ate at Yellow Sunshine. The food was ok but I didn't much like the neighbourhood, it felt a little criminal and unsafe.

And so our Berlin adventure was already over :(! I was sad to separate from my mom, but also happy to see my love and kitties again :). I took over 300 pictures and I haven't sorted them all out yet, but I placed a bunch in my flickr stream. Check them out if you like :)!

The giveaway ends this sunday,
I'll announce the winner on Monday :)!

Berlin, hier ich bin!

I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow!
I'm very exited, and a bit nervous...
Remember my guestpost at Ada's Blog?
For those who haven't read it yet, maybe
you should ;).
So guess who's coming with me?
Greta ofcourse! And who else?
My mum!
Here are a couple of things
I would love to see on our trip:

The Berliner Dom, because it's awfully pretty.
The east side gallery (Berlin wall).
The brandenburger tor and the bridge between
Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, two places
can't wait to shop till I drop :)!

So I guess it's going to be a little
quiet around here this week, but when
I'm back I'll tell you about our
adventures, promised :)!

Ingthings

I've been wanting to write about
Ingrid for a while.
I stumbled upon her blog some time ago
immediately falling in love with her
eye for really pretty things.
Mostly vintage and retro, and
I really really ♥ that!
Her flickr photostream is dreamy.

Last week I participated in a cute
vintage fabric giveaway at her

of the lucky winners :)!
The package arrived yesterday
and was so lovely!

Today in Pictures

A little bit of today in pictures.
Me and friends went to a museum in
Barneveld where they had an Alice
in Wonderland exhibition.
I took my little vistaquest camera
with me again!

Part of our transport was the bus:

The museum was near Barneveld's church.
History tells, that Jan van Schaffelaar
jumped off that church to save his people.

A statue of him is on the public square
near the church. A lot of things in
Barneveld are named after him!
But, we came of course, to see
Alice!

Here are my friends, in front of the
teeny tiny museum :)!

The exhibition was small, but
very cute. They had so many
Alice in Wonderland books!
I took some pictures inside with
my Nikon. I'll show them later ;).

Cute Fonts

What's that one cute font called again?
Oops I can't remember... Maybe I should make
a list of all the cute fonts I collected over
the years, so I can easily find the font I'm
looking for when designing something...
Hey, maybe I should share the list with my
blog followers, pretty sure they would like that ;)!

Enlarge by clicking on it.
I think I downloaded most fonts on Dafont,
so if you see one you like, just go over there and
type it's name in the search area :).

Construction!

Whoops!
Where oh where did my design go?
For those of you wondering, it's gone! But you probably
already noticed that right? I've been wanting to make changes
for like EVER! Not because I didn't like my old design,
but because I think I can do better ;).
Yeah I know, it doesn't look like much now, this is probably
an in between stage, just like when you're waiting for
your hair to grow. Always wanting to do even better isn't
the only reason though;
I like designing! I'm impulsive and I want new things very often!
Blogger put in a new template design program with some extras I really
wouldn't mind for my blog, and the final straw for not being able to
wait any longer was Pugly Pixel's eCourse preview.
After watching her video, the change your blog itch was itching
so bad I just didn't think about it any more and got started.
The only thing I forgot to think of, is that I don't even know what
I want yet! And Katrina {Pugly Pixel} said it so clear in the video;
first, sketch! But I didn't, and so now it's a bit of a mess ;).
I hope ya'll hang in there lovely readers, the itch
hasn't left my system yet so I'm not sitting still over here :)!

picture treat

Hi guys!
You must all be wondering how the photo shoot went?
Well, it was amaaaaazing! I really loved it :) and
I think Jeltje did a great job! I haven't seen the
pictures yet (well a couple on her camera which looked
awesome) but I just know it'll be so pretty!
I can't wait till the article comes out!
I'm afraid I can't show you any pictures Jeltje made,
so we all have to be patient till the article comes
out and of course everyone should buy it ;)! I don't
really know when it happens but probably somewhere in
December. Don't worry foreign readers, I'll scan the
article as well.

But, to not leave you guys completely empty handed I
have a big picture treat for you :)! So big I put them
in a mosaic. It are some pictures of my house but mostly
things I've made in the last couple of weeks and are
now IN my house :)! Click on the links under the mosaic
to view the pictures bigger (come on you ow it to
yourself *wink* it's worth it). Here we go!

Have fun lovelies!

Photo shoot ready {almost} :)

Tomorrow Jeltje from 'Yes' magazine is coming
to photograph my home! I'm almost done, the
finishing touch will happen tomorrow morning and
cleaning the house now will be useless seeing as
there will be cat hairs all over the place again
tomorrow :). So I have an early start tomorrow
to clean up the last things and I even arranged for
a cleaning lady to come help me ;)!
O my god, you must think my house is really dirty
right now :p, but I just want everything to be perfect!
As for the cleaning lady, she visits our home every
month anyway so her coming in tomorrow morning just
happened to be perfect.

The only thing not perfect is me having spots on my
face, I hate it! Never ever do I have those {okay well
sometimes} but they just had to show themselves the
day before the photo shoot :(! And of course I couldn't
keep my hands off them making them worse in the process,
arrrggghh, I hope they will photoshop them out :p.

Ready for the last peek? It's my bedroom and a new pillow

I've made <3
