The Buddha Belly

'Are you pregnant?'
'Nikki, is there something you want to tell me?'
*whispers to a friend* 'Is Nikki pregnant?'
'My daughter saw you last summer, weren't you pregnant?'

I was under the impression that you n-e-v-e-r ask a
girl if she's pregnant if you aren't at least 99% sure
that she is! But these questions have been flying at me
a lot lately, so to clearify things up;

People, I am not pregnant! And although I would absolutely
love to have children, I can all tell you now, It won't happen
for at least a while!

And now, I will explain why my belly indeed does look like
there could be something in it. I have IBS 'Irritable Bowel Syndrome'.
And it S-U-C-K-S! If you don't know what it is, you can read
all about it here.

My belly is almost always, especially in stressful
times or when I have eaten certain food, swollen like
a balloon! When I eat something fried, I can sit on the
toilet for hours and hours with a-lot-of-pain!

I love my body, but I do find it difficult to wear
tight shirts because of it :(! And that's a real shame,
so from now on, I will wear what I like and won't care
anymore about the staring and questions! There!

:) love,
Nikki

Kitties

Just another late night writing, to tell you about my kitties,
loyally by my side right now. Since i spend most of the day
being at home, my kitties are my company. It doesn't matter what
i'm doing, one of them or all of them are always following
me around. When i'm behind my sewing machine, Moos tries to
play with the thread and seriously, i can't even get mad!
When i'm cleaning the bathroom, Frutsel loves to hang out with
me and make everything dirty again. And when i sleep, when i
sleep Moby curls up next to me and hasn't changed her position
when i wake up again. I really love them. Moby was my first cat,
she first belonged to my dad, but when he couldn't have her
anymore i welcomed her with open arms :). She is a little strange
one, like all of them. She also is the oldest and a little shy.
Another funny detail is that she sometimes growls like a dog when
she hears sounds she doesn't trust! So cute!

Moby:

My second cat was Morus, he lives with my mom now. Morus is an
old aged gentleman with some bladder problems. Though we really
adored him, we couldn't afford his expensive diet food and he
wasn't fond of other cats. My mom offered to take him and she
can't live without him anymore :)! A really funny thing about
Morus is, that when there was a pile of clothes somewhere, he
sat on it and sort of...made love to it. Hilarious!

Morus:

My third cat is Moos, or 'Pavarotti' as we sometimes call
him, because he 'sings'. When he's bored, he walks around
the house miaowing like crazy! We adopted Moos from a woman
who had about 25 streetcats in her house. He was very small
for his age and we suspected he was ill. But he was the cutest
thing we ever saw, and really fond of other cats. We took him
to the vet, he had some sort of cold and after a couple of
antibiotic treatments he was a completely different cat,
more alive (but still cute). Moos loves to lie under blankets.
Sometimes when i can't find him, i go look for bumps under
blankets and thats always a succes :).

Moos (and Moby) when we first got him:

Moos now:

My fourth and last cat is Frutsel, her story has already been
told on my blog but i'll do it again :p. Frutsel walked in to
our local pub, my friend and neighbour took her home and
immediately i fell inlove with this little girl. After a week,
my friend texted me 'do you still want this little monster?'.
YESSS! :D. So now she is with us for about..3 or 4 months i guess.
She adores Moos and they are incredibly naughty together and i
admit that sometimes they really get on my nerves. But they
are also insanely entertaining and make me laugh all the time!
Frutsel likes to come with you in the shower, the water doesn't
even really bother her! And she has no upper canines wich makes
her face funny and cute.

Sleepyheads:

Frutsel:

To make a long story short, i love my cats and can't imagine a
life without them! Now please stop me from taking more cats :p!

Give your cats a hug from me!
Love,
Nikki

I wanna be Famous!

Well...not exactly famous..
Just, you know, someone says 'liefgeval'
and the other one says 'o yeah that cute
webshop!'. Maybe I'll get there someday!
I am working on it! This month my article
in the 'Fancy' (dutch magazine) came out.
It was even more awesome than I had hoped
for. It was all the way in the back of the
magazine, and when I started flipping pages
and couldn't see anything till the end I was
almost scared that it wasn't in there! But
it was, and it tickled me:

The article says:
'This makes you happy!'
Package from liefgeval.nl
Liefgeval.nl is a webshop filled with cute stuff.
Owner Nikki likes to make people happy with the
handmade stuff she sells. Colorful products piece
by piece supercute! Extra fun: You don't see these
items a lot and some pieces are even unique! Curious?
Go see www.liefgeval.nl!
Win a package from liefgeval.nl with a little purse,
earrings , a ring and a surprise? Don't forget to go
to fancy.nl for the contest on februari 26th.

I also enroled for the CraftyGirls Crosspromotion Flyer!
This is a flyer with 7 ads from craftygirls like me, and
we all ship the flyer out to our customers so they will
have knowledge of other cute webshops too! I like it!
Pâmela from Feito Com Amor brought the idea to my attention.
She also invited me to attend a craftymarket! Wich is
one of my goals on my 2010 goal list :D! I was very

flattered when she told me she's a fan of my work <3. I already ordered a small banner to hang by my booth, and it's cuuuute! Simple but sweet :).

Time to tell you my new theme for the webshop...
some already know...
it's...

Alice in Wonderland!!! Yay!

I chose this theme because Tim Burton's
Alice in Wonderland will be in cinema's the
first week of march, exactly than the alice
goodies will be in my webshop!
I ordered a lot of cute Alice in wonderland
fabric, and started preparing. Not only
for the theme, but also for the craftymarket!
Wanna have a nicely filled up booth!

So enthusiastic about everything, I tried to
set up an Etsy shop as well! But :( you need
to have a creditcard to do so :( and I don't
have one :( and my boyfriend won't let me
have one :( and so I'm very :(.
He thinks we will spend more money with
a credit card in our possesion, and he
probably isn't wrong..:(

I think this was about it :)!
Oh wait...

<3 Happy (kitsch) Valentines day <3

Love, hugs,
Nikki

2010 Goals

Some goals that needed to be written down,
or I'll forget! I think I'm going to start
making these sort of lists more often, so
at the end of 2010 I can look back and be
proud at what I have achieved.

I got the cute deer list from the parasol craft edition 2!

Tattoo ♥

She's here!
My tattooed deer!
She lives on my upper arm,
with her little fairy tale forest
and 2 birdy's to keep her company!
It took me 5 hours including a lot of
hot chocolate milk breaks and in the end
some tears (ouch). But I'm really happy with
her! She isn't completely finished, but
already a beauty!
